The Catholic Schools Pupil Profile is based on the Jesuit aim of education and is used as a framework to develop intellectually competent, good and virtuous young people through education. The Virtues are deeply rooted in the gospels of Jesus Christ and the spirt of St Ignatius Loyola (1491 – 1556), who was the founder of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit schools and who developed a pathway to God and to human fulfilment.

The Catholic Schools Pupil Profile (see below), which consists of several pairs of Values and Virtues, greatly supports our children’s spiritual, moral, vocational, social, and cultural development. Each half term, we focus on two Virtues from the Profile and these are explored within all aspects of our school curriculum. All aspects of curriculum learning is deepened through them and they provide an excellent basis from which to explore the World, current affairs and global issues that affect us all. In addition, we find the children are increasingly able to articulate their views in many subject areas.

Virtues are celebrated and promoted widely within each class and the school. A weekly Collective Worship is planned with them in mind and children are rewarded for embracing the Virtues in many ways.
